How to choose windows?
This article is devoted to one of the mainquestions that arise during the repair and not only: how to choose windows and, most importantly - which windows. We'll start with the latter, and then describe in detail each type of windows and tell you which windows are the most suitable in which cases.
Which windows to choose
At the moment there are three main typeswindows: windows of the first type are made of natural wood, the second - from wood, but specially processed, and, finally, the windows of the third type are made of PVC or, more simply - of plastic. The choice depends on several factors, and the main ones here are: your taste and the amount you are willing or can spend to buy or replace windows. Currently, most consumers prefer plastic - and, even with an excess of cash. Let's look at each option in detail and find out how to choose the right window, regardless of how it is done by the majority, because not always the majority is right.
Traditionally, they are the most expensive. Solid appearance, high environmental compatibility and excellent compatibility with furniture - of course, if the windows are made with furniture in a single style. Although, according to some experts, the ecological compatibility of wooden windows can be questioned and their high environmental properties are often simply declared. What is the reason for such doubts? The fact is that in order for wooden windows to be durable, the material must be treated with various chemical compounds. This is done to prevent cracking and rotting. In addition, wooden windows are covered with a special polyurethane paint, which provides them with high resistance to atmospheric phenomena. Of course, as a result of all the above manipulations, the ecological compatibility, as well as the air permeability of wooden windows, is significantly reduced, if not to say, reduced to almost zero. But in wooden windows there is much more marriage than, for example, in plastic.
It should be noted that the manufacture of woodenwindows - a much longer and laborious process, which consists of many small steps, which, nevertheless, are very important for the durability of the future product. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this, but as a result, manufacturers of wooden windows have more technological problems, as well as more opportunities to break this manufacturing technology. The main problems or intentional faults most often occur when drying wood, gluing, painting and installing glazing. As a result, finished wooden windows may not correspond to the European quality level (although they are called "euro windows"), but immediately it is rather difficult to determine. As a result, an expensive product can be sold to the consumer, which then can provide him with a number of difficulties.
Windows made of natural wood
Recently, the widespreadgot windows from various species of natural wood: oak, larch, pine, teak. They are made according to modern technologies in Finland, Italy, Spain and Russia. And the prices for them are very diverse: from 12 and even 15 thousand rubles per square meter for elite windows, up to 3000 rubles per square meter for windows made of laminated veneer with double-glazed windows. For comparison: Finnish euro windows will cost from 6000 rubles per square meter. and, in addition, with the installation. Of course, much depends on their finishing and shape, but you are practically guaranteed a high quality of manufacture and accessories. The tree itself is treated against decay, deformation and swelling. Of course, this ensures reliable operation of these windows and a long service life.
Here it should be noted at once that the choiceplastic window - the event is very serious and responsible, and you need to know what qualities to choose such windows. But first let's say why consumers like plastic windows so much. First, for a long service life - for a good plastic window and 50 years - is not the limit. Secondly, PVC windows are very unpretentious and do not need care. Thirdly, such windows are very strong and dense, which allows to significantly reduce energy losses in the house and apartment. Well, and fourthly, these windows are cheaper than wooden windows, although there were times when their cost was an order of magnitude higher. Well, now about how to choose high-quality windows from the profile of PVC?
We choose plastic windows
The choice begins with a profile, and here are two options: foreign or domestic. Here it should be noted that windows made in Europe are not always suitable for our climatic conditions, so a suitable profile is made in Russia itself, but not necessarily by domestic firms. Profiles made by Western companies in open factories will also suit. The number of cameras in the plastic profile is also important. And in our conditions it is better to choose a three-chamber window system that perfectly fits to the conditions of the Russian winter in the European part of the country. And for the regions of the far north, a five-chamber profile is suitable, which, incidentally, besides excellent thermal insulation, also has very good noise-insulating properties. Of the other properties for which you need to choose PVC windows, we note the presence of additives in the profile - that is, special additives that provide increased frost resistance and give the frames a snow-white tinge. That's why experts advise buying structures from trusted manufacturers of PVC profiles, because immediately the quality and in general the availability of such additives is very difficult to determine. Pay attention to the appearance and quality of the surface - here the semi-gloss is the most preferable, since with sufficient gloss on it, scratches and other damages are almost invisible. As for the color of the windows, everything here depends entirely on your taste. Well, and of course, do not forget about the appropriate hardware and quality installation.
How to choose windows for home and office
With the house everything is relatively clear, although, of course,it should be noted that in urban conditions, plastic windows have proved to be the best ones - and from the point of view of protection from noise and high thermal insulation. Outside the city, it is best to choose windows made of natural wood that, if properly installed, will also reliably protect your home from the penetration of noise and cold air, and create an absolutely unique, "living" atmosphere in the house. As for office buildings, they are best suited for plastic windows with a simple profile. With such a window it will not be cold even in winter, because in office buildings there are absolutely different ventilation standards laid down during construction. And where a three-chamber package is needed in an apartment building, a one-chamber window is also suitable for an office. Well, I think you have already decided which windows to choose, because you know how to choose them.
