If your chainsaw does not work well: adjust the carburetor for beginners
Chainsaw is indispensable in cases whereit is required to perform work in places severely divorced from civilization. However, in the garden is also much more convenient to use a gasoline tool, rather than drag a dozen or two meters of the extension cable.
Unfortunately, some shortcomings have evenchainsaw. Adjustment of the carburetor for sure will put in a blind alley the man who is not too friendly with the mechanics. To understand this issue, we suggest you read our article.
On any modern saw, the carburetor has three special screws:
- L - for a low-speed jet.
- H - is intended for adjustment of a jet with high turns.
- T - the screw for "adjustment" of idling.
The location of each of them is specific for differentmanufacturers, so to clarify this issue should be, using the instruction manual. The easiest way to adjust the carburetor chainsaw "Friendship", as the instruction for its maintenance is easy to find.
What are screws for?
As you can understand, with the help of the first twodevices the adjustment of the ratio of air and fuel mixture is carried out. If the screw is twisted, a lean mixture will enter the combustion chamber, and the revolutions will fall. On the contrary, if you unscrew them counter-clockwise, the "fatty" fuel mixture will burn, because of what the speed will increase.
On the contrary, adjustment is carried outidle move. If the screw "T" is turned clockwise, the revolutions will increase. Once again, we recall that each chainsaw, whose carburetor adjustment we are considering, has a unique arrangement of tuning organs. So carefully read the instruction manual!
The initial setting is carried out formanufacturer. Note that this adjustment provides a slightly more saturated fuel mixture. It must be kept in the first hours when the chainsaw works. Adjustment of the carburetor further assumes more precise settings.
How to do it?
First, the tool is put on idle: While the chain rotates on the working tire, it is necessary to twist the screw "T" counter-clockwise. Twist it until the chain stops. Note that you can perform this operation only on a warmed-up instrument, and for this you need a speed counter. So, the adjustment of the carburetor chainsaw "Husqvarna" should be carried out only by specialists.
Note that first adjust the screw "L", then go to "H", and in the end go to the "T" setting.
Adjust the speed
To begin with, you will have to find thehigh idle speed by turning the "L" valve clockwise or in the opposite direction. Once you have found the peak speed, turn the screw 1/4 counterclockwise. If the chain continues to rotate after this, it is necessary to unscrew the screw "T" counter-clockwise.
Once the engine has run for fullturns not less than 10 seconds, it is necessary to unscrew "Н" on 1/4 turn, moving it against a direction of an hour hand. Run the tool again for at least ten seconds. Always check the maximum speed!
If their number does not match the passport data, the adjustment should be repeated. In the case when you asked too poor a mixture, the engine will "scream". If the "food" is too rich, then from the muffler will go fat smoke.
Thus, the modern chainsaw, whose carburetor adjustment we have examined, is quite a complex tool.
