FIFA experts have recognized the roll-out field of the Petersburg Zenit-Arena under construction unfit for games.
Colin Smith, Director of FIFA Competition Organization Management, and Christian Ungre, Head of the Department for Preparing for the World Championships, visited the field, along with representatives of the Russian Organizing Committee for the 2018 World Cup.
Commission members reportedly jumped on the lawn and concluded that the level of vibrations is too high to hold football matches here. According to some reports, the level of vibration at the Zenit Arena exceeded the norm by seven times. The Russian side should eliminate the drawbacks by December 20.
